DailySpend adds up what you spend each day from the payment alerts your bank, card and UPI apps send by SMS. It is made by Telco & Software Services (founder and owner: Rahul Sharma), an independent developer in India ("we", "us"). Contact: rprrahul18@gmail.com / contact@telcosoftservices.com.
If you agree (DailySpend explains this and asks first), the app reads the SMS on your phone to find payment alerts from your bank, cards and UPI apps. The first time it looks back 30 days, then reads new messages as they arrive. From each payment alert it keeps only: the amount and currency, where it was paid, the date and time, the payment method (UPI, card…), the bank and the last digits of the account or card. The message itself is not kept. Every other SMS is ignored and never saved, shown or used. This all happens on your phone. You can turn it off any time in Settings.
iPhones don't let apps read SMS. If you set up the optional Shortcuts automation, iOS passes messages that contain the words you chose (such as "debited") to DailySpend on your phone. Payment alerts are saved as above. A message that mentions an amount but can't be read as a payment is kept on your phone in a "Not recognised" list, so you can add it yourself or dismiss it; other messages are ignored. You can delete the automation in the Shortcuts app at any time.
Only on your phone, in DailySpend's own storage: your payments (as above, plus any you type in or paste), your settings (such as limits and the notification time) and the "Not recognised" list. Nothing is stored anywhere else.
The evening total and limit warnings are created on your phone. No notification service or server is involved.
PDF and CSV statements are made on your phone. They leave it only if you choose to save or send them, for example by email; after that they're handled by the app or service you chose.
None that receive your data. The App Store and Google Play handle downloads under their own privacy policies.
In the app: Settings → Delete all my data deletes every payment, setting and message saved by DailySpend on your phone. Deleting the app does the same. As nothing is stored anywhere else, there is nothing more to delete.
DailySpend is meant for adults and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or the GDPR), you may have rights to see, correct or delete your data. Since everything is on your phone, you can see, change and delete it yourself in the app. For anything else, email me.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
