MeetRecap records in-person meetings, turns speech into text on your phone, and writes AI summaries. It is made by Telco & Software Services (founder and owner: Rahul Sharma), an independent developer in India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your data. Contact: rprrahul18@gmail.com / contact@telcosoftservices.com.
Recordings, transcripts, summaries, meeting names, the people you add and their voice profiles (a set of numbers describing how someone sounds, used to recognise who is speaking) are stored only in MeetRecap's own storage on your phone. They stay there until you delete the meeting, the person, or all your data, or delete the app.
| What | When | To whom | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| The meeting's text (transcript), its name, type, date and the names of people in it | When a summary is written | My summary server (Google Cloud), which passes it to Anthropic (Claude) | To write the summary. Not stored by my server. |
| Transcript lines, or a summary | When you ask for a translation | My summary server, then Anthropic | To translate them. Not stored by my server. |
| An anonymous account ID | With every request | Google Firebase | To know how many free summaries you've used and whether you have Pro. |
| A scrambled code for your phone | With every request | My summary server | So that reinstalling the app doesn't reset the free summary. Only a one-way hash is kept, never the code. |
| Purchases (what you bought, when) | When you buy Pro or summaries | Apple or Google, and RevenueCat | To take payment and unlock what you bought. I never see card or bank details. |
| Download requests for speech models | When the app is first set up | Hugging Face | To download the speech-to-text models. Like any website, they see your IP address. |
Summaries and translations are written by Anthropic's Claude AI through Anthropic's paid API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through the API is not used to train its models. Anthropic may keep it for a limited time for safety and legal reasons, and then deletes it. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
Laws in many places require the consent of everyone being recorded. Please tell people you are recording, and get their agreement, before you start.
In the app: Settings → Delete all my data. This deletes every meeting, recording, person and setting on your phone, and your anonymous account and its usage record on my server. Two things are kept: the current month's count for your phone code (so deleting can't reset the free summary; it deletes itself after the month ends) and pack purchase records (payment records). A Pro subscription is not cancelled by this: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. You can also email me to ask for deletion.
MeetRecap is not meant for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or the GDPR in Europe), you may have the right to see, correct or delete your data, and to complain to a regulator. Since almost everything stays on your phone, you can see and delete it yourself in the app. For anything else, email me.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
